A Bountiful Harvest & a Sweet Trade at Agriculture Camp

It was another busy and rewarding day at our weekly Agriculture Camp! Our campers rolled up their sleeves and got right to work harvesting a beautiful variety of fresh produce from the farm.
Today’s harvest included butter lettuce, red lettuce, kale, bok choy, parsley, and cilantro. After harvesting, campers helped prepare the produce for delivery and got to experience the satisfaction of seeing the fruits—and vegetables—of their hard work make their way from the farm to the community.
After a full morning of work, everyone was ready for a hearty meal. Campers were treated to a delicious lunch of bison stroganoff, lovingly prepared by Billie Jean. There’s nothing quite like a warm, filling meal after working hard on the farm!
The day got even sweeter while making deliveries. Some of our campers managed to make what we think was a pretty “good trade”—fresh farm produce for fresh cinnamon rolls! A big thank you to Phyllis Clough for the delicious treats. They certainly didn’t last long!
Agriculture Camp is about so much more than growing and harvesting food. It’s about learning where our food comes from, working together, giving back to our community, sharing a good meal, and enjoying the little rewards that come after a job well done.
From fresh vegetables and bison stroganoff to a sweet cinnamon roll trade, it was another memorable day at Agriculture Camp. We love treats after a day of working on the farm, and we can’t wait to see what adventures next week brings!
